Health Plan Updates – May 26/20

As we navigate through this difficult time, we want to share some of our information with you.

Next Years’ Benefits:

As we are only two months into our plan year (April 1, 2020 – March 31, 2021), at this time we do not know how our benefit plan will be impacted and therefore how each of you as individuals will be affected in regard to what benefit level you will qualify for in April 2021.   We will have a better understanding of this towards year end.

Health Care Spending Account:

Your health solutions plus (healthcare spending account) is regulated by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and is currently available over a 2 year period at which point any unused balance must be forfeited.    Several insurance companies and industry lobby groups have requested that the CRA consider extending the 2 year requirement due to the COVID.     We will let you know if/when we hear something
